Introducing the luxurious Whittle Tweed

Our new British-made 100% Wool Upholstery Collection. Whittle Tweed has a provenance dating back over 400 yrs to the late 16th century, where the Whittle & Devices families, known as the ‘Pendle Witches’ eked out their existence by spinning wool for local Lancashire weavers.

Today using wool from Cheviot Sheep, it’s still dyed, spun, woven and finished in the UK combining traditional skills with new creative techniques, resulting in a range of upholstery tweeds with an exceptionally soft and luxurious feel. Natural and stunning Whittle Tweed is a high performance FR collection. It meets Crib 5 and IMO with an abrasion of 50K making it suitable for a wide range of contract applications, from loose and fixed upholstery in pubs and restaurants to stunning chairs and sofas in hotel receptions, offices and cruise interiors.

Six classic designs include a colourful textured plain, duotone houndstooth, sharp plaid, smart herringbone and large check, all beautifully woven using yarns inspired by the natural colours of the local landscape.

Our Whittle designs can also be printed onto a range of drapery base cloths for use as curtains to complement our Whittle Tweed upholstery fabrics - contact our sales desk for more information.
